My boyfriends parents are needing to get rid of there basenji he is just to much of a dog for them they travel a lot and he needs to be able to get out and run more.
He is about 8yrs old and is chipped he is fixed.

It's just a reminder that listing a location helps connect your want/need to (hopefully) someone who has what you are looking for (within a reasonable distance). I second the notion that a puppy might not be the right fit. There are many mature ones out there that need homes, and would (hopefully!) be less of a hassle, although some Basenjis never seem to outgrow the "puppy" stage! :) BRAT is a good site to start your research, perhaps right here: http://www.basenjirescue.org/REALITY%20STORIES/default.htm

I think that many adopters would pay for the cost. And add to that if it is a situation that a person has contacted BRAT to give up the dog and he/she is not tested then they should be required to put up that fee. I think that BRAT does an excellent job in most respects, however this is one point that I really disagree with not testing. I am not sure that they would agree to test even if people covered the cost
