Yes - they are lovely rosettes and we all gave Malaika and the both of you, of course a lot of applause.
Malaika and Kwame

Just a quick update as it's been so long
Both dogs are doing well and get on great together.
Kwame has finaly started to grow but he's still a skinny Malink, lol
A short while ago we decided to give showing a go but unfortunately both dogs hated being on the table at ringcraft classes so we have decided not to persue it.
We are still busy with obedience training. Malaika is working for her Gold KC good citizenship award and Kwame his Silver.
Malaika unfortunately failed her assessment on saturday, she did brilliantly apart from the A recall when she decided to ignore Howard and spend quality time with the examiner instead
The examiner was familiar with Basenjis and recognised how well she had done despite failing.
Kwame injured his paw last week and has been feeling very sorry for himself, quite rightly as his paw suffered quite a deep cut.
Here are a few recent pictures…......Look how sore it is
It realy is sore
watching tv with dad
Basenji Kiss
Malaika chews on his leg

Loved your pictures…..yes, he is quite the drama queen, like most Basenjis. Beautiful dogs. And congrats on the KC good citizenship efforts. Basenjis can always find something more interesting to do than a recall.
-
Good to hear from you all again. Malaika and Kwame are obviously doing well. How on earth did Kwame cut his paw? The poor, poor boy!!
-
Beautiful pair. Kwame looks adorably pathetic. A bandaged paw is even more effective than the cone of shame!
-
Thanks for these photos. My kids and I got a big kick out of them. Poor Kwame!!!!!!

We're not sure Helena, last sunday we took them for a run to the river, it's a safeish area where we can let them off lead.
They both had a good rampage in the fields and it was only when we got home that we noticed him licking. He sliced one of his pads quite deeply. We cleaned and bandaged it up but because he was crying so much we took him to the vets who said it wasn't realy very deep.
He had it cleaned and bandaged and antibiotics.
Realy must make up a canine first aid. -
lol, i put a cone on him yesterday when we removed the bandage, however he could still just about get to it.

Glad you and your kids enjoyed them

These pics of Kwame made me laugh. He is milking that sore foot for all it's worth! And it looks like it is working. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Kwame.
p.s. Doggie first aid kit - I have one and keep it in the trunk of my car.

thanks Fran, his foot is much better today, being exposed to the air is doing it good.

That's progrees - the bandage coming off. I don't suppose it matters if he llicks it unless he does it excessively. Poor, poor paw, Kwame.
