Not sure if I should worry about this.

My basenji Ellie is 12 and has recently started eating my shoes and pants. Her brother has deibetes and is on a special food. I am wondering if she is okay to eat it or not, the vet said it was okay. She has also been trying to eat some of my plants outside which I have never seen her do before at all. Is she not getting the nutrition she needs, because they eat the same thing. Her poops seem to be very small as well, maybe I am over-worring, she is a small dog, but is now gaining weight.

Any advise?

At Ellie's age, I would take her to the vet for a check-up. When a behavior changes out of the blue, there is always a chance that it is being caused by a medical problem.
