    My fella loves his bankies like crazy. As I do, in winter. there is one that I have on th couch that, last evening, he was a bit overly Basenji 'cause it was in the wash. He's been just a bit " basenji' about a couple of other "bankies" Is there an intervention we can try??? He Loves his Bankies…..

    PS: most human folk will have no idea what I mean......B folk...God love ya!!!!

    Maybe "bASENJI bLANKETS Annonomous?

    Mine do not like the cheap ones either they only love the $150 thick fleece blankets. I love when cold weather comes as it becomes basenji cuddling season. Can't keep them off you- the big babies!

    Even this summer, my boy has wanted to sleep under his 'bankie'. 90 degrees or more. still wants to be under the blanket. I'm tellin' you , It's an addiction and needs an intervention of some sort :D

    Ah yeah though the site that I saw clearly had a picture of a Basenji representing the breed! Your link, they look nothing like Bs

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    We use ones from Rukka. Not sure if they’re available everywhere but they are they best ones we have tried (others always fell off, especially in deep snow). I think having two Velcro closures on each sock has been key. I also prefer the soft shell ones as our B seems to accept them more and they don’t twist as much as the ones with a hard sole.     My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.
