    We are drawing up a list of words to use when training Malaika, so the whole family are saying the same thing.
    I could do with some clarification between the use of the words No and Leave it.

    I use 'Leave it' when trying to teach food manners. This can be really useful when out walking when you come across a dead something or a chip wrapper etc. The word 'No' is used in my house when one B maybe growls at another in jealousy, or tries to mount my arm or just something they're not supposed to be doing.

    Hope this makes sense.

    One thing I have found is that there are no hard and fast rules. But you have the right idea by getting everyone in the house using the same commands. I have one of my puppies where everyone in the house has a clicker and each are trained how to use it on the pup.

    Thanks Victoria, we just want to get it right.
    Just worked out it's abour 18 years since i had a Puppy.
    If she gets a bit much for the Cats, i'm saying No, then reinforcing with leave it.
    She's doing brilliantly realy, just working on her being happy with us at the moment.

    Why don't you enrol her in puppy classes? The trainers will be able to help you with commands and all the family should be able to attend too. :)

    We are definately going to take her to a Puppy training class, haven't managed to find one yet, two people have said they would contact me with numbers and haven't done.
    She is the first Dog me and Howard have chosen together so it will be fun.

And really, if you are planning to purchase such a prized piece of Art, shouldn't you educate yourself so you can make an intelligent decision instead of allowing others to tell you what to buy? As an aside: The original YouTube link remains, but we certainly do not need her entire catalog of videos. Sharing information is one thing, advertising for someone is another. I would hope that you understand that not everything you see online is true. Including claims to be an expert, certified, trained, Dr., etc., etc. Lots of people in the world are just selling a story.

    Just a suggestion: When you see him "misbehaving" by chewing on 'less than ideal' items, offer him one of his toys and use the word "trade". In other words, 'chew on this instead', and when he accepts the toy - praise him. And when you see him get the toy on his own, praise him again. It could help him understand that certain toys are just for those times when you want to "rip someone's head off*". (*not meant literally, only in doggy world play)

    I also have a Verizon air card USB - the video may use it all up. Also, instead of using the laptop with the air card, I used my home computer to call it up and found you have to subscribe to something in order to watch - it's my policy not to do that. So, even though the video may be great, you do have to sign up with something to do so.

    Just curious - have you tested the drug yet? How is it working? I take it you can read norwegian as you live her. If you want to, I can email you som info I got after a session with Gry L?berg regarding my Giants seperation anxiety, it has a training program in it, and some general info.

    THANK YOU!! I finally feel there is somebody out there that 'gets it'. Our girl does not respond to any of the 'pack leader' stuff - I'm sure she was dumped because she is just such a stinker. Everytime I hit bottom somebody helps me through the disaster with encouragment (that's why I joined this group.) THANK YOU for your good thougths - things do progress - her private trainer is coming this weekend & we're doing the prong collar. Last night she sat in her crate for almost 45 minutes. No matter what, she's here to stay & she is so darn cute!!!!! That tail is really precious - thank you so much for all your e-support!! Joanne & Sophie:) :) :) :)
