    My Daughter is moving into an apartment and they dont allow dogs. She would prefer her dog London to go to a loving home. She has been fixed so cannot be breed. She is the sweetest thing and pains me not to take her as I have the maximum of 3 dogs right now (2 great danes and the renter has a dog). Please let me know if you have any ideas!

    Shes a hugger!

    She can be seen in San Diego or Los Angeles where she is right now.

    I would contact BRAT… www.basenjirescue.org … and let them know your situation. They will try to find a foster and then a forever home!! Good luck... So sad.

    Sigh. I also have issues with folks making a choice that is good for them and not for their animals.
    I have been through a divorce and had pets.
    Lived in a pretty crummy place for a year, but at least the pets came with me.
    Some folks don't make that committment.
    I am glad we have the rescue support groups we now have in place.
    It saves so many animals and give folks a chance to start again

I had a nice long chat with a woman at the shelter who thought he likely escaped his adoptive home and that the owners might not want him back. So far none of his adoptive homes were Basenji experienced. The tail. Have to agree. Still, could have a nice Basenji attitude. :oncoming_fist::beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

    Please go to Basenjirescue.org and join as a member. It will show you are serious about helping. BRAT always needs good foster homes. A home visit will be required (not sure if that is possible at this time considering this COVID-19 crisis). It is especially helpful if you have basenji experience. Not always, but very often, a basenji coming into rescue has special needs (i.e., behavioral, medical, etc.). It is good to ask yourself if you and your family are willing to deal with that. Fostering is hard but it can also be a wonderful and rewarding thing to do.

    We all have to start some place in b's.. Your Abby was very lucky you found her. All dogs need loving owners like yourself. We just need to stop the puppymillers and pet shops. That is my dream…
