  • thanks for posting Dan. She's a lovely looking Dog, yes she could be a Basenji mix.
What a great job they do. I wonder if a Basenji would make a search and rescue dog, there would need to be something in it for them 😃

  • I definitely see a Basenji in that mix. Great video. 😃

  • It's definitely a pariah type dog.. Even looks a bit Dingo to me. Very nice dog. And great to see how owner and dog interact. 🙂

  • I've been tossing around the idea of using B's for search and rescue. In addition to being excellent scent hounds, they have the advantage of being sight hounds as well. Also, they are smaller, faster and more agile than bloodhounds and Bassets. The only disadvantage I can see is their short hair, which may make them inappropriate for cold weather rescue. I don't see anyone housing a Basenji outdoors to thicken the coat, as is the practice for police dogs.

Buddy only stays out during the day but his fur is on the thick side like my first B which could stay in a dog house when I was gone for days without coming in. But it does not snow here or reach sub zero temps.

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Basenji in the rain:eek: !!! I now see it is possible without physically dragging them on a leash;)

  • Houston

Great clip. Thanks for sharing ..once again Dan.

Jepp I agree, she definitely looks to be at least part pariah dog, basenji, or something like that..
