When my daughter was 10-11, we went to the Basenji National, I think in Indianapolis. She showed in Juniors at the time, and I think showed a few of our adults too. They had a costume contest (it was before Halloween) and she and our Spicer entered. I made her a Dorothy outfit, and Spicer's 'witch' outfit. I attached a 'gown', to a dark lure coursing shirt (sorry, forget what they are called), that dragged on the floor when he walked. I took some glow in the dark paint and wrote on the gown "I'M MELTING" She's 32 now, married, and I gave the dog stuff to her a couple of years ago. You'll just have to take my word for it, they were adorable! Oh, for the next couple of years when the kids went trick or treating, Spicer got to go, wearing his costume too. He held his head so high, I like to think he was so proud that he won the costume contest. After all, Monica was cute, but HE won!

I used Wisdom Panel for my assumed Basenji mix. It showed no basenji at all. My boy is 32 lbs and short hair. His DNA says he is 25% American Eskimo 12.5% Boston Terrier 12.5% Chow Chow 12.5% German Shepherd 12.5% Miniature Schnauzer 25% Breed Group-Sporting, Herding, Hound, Terrier. Having owned basenjis all my life I would say my boy has basenji in him by his personality and behavior regardless of what his dna says!!

@elbrant for sure :) this way goes to company entry, therefore some times this way open for car crossing. The rocks for seperate the pedestrian way from the car way. For keep clear pedestiral way from car parking. And also they are take a kids' attention for not cross suddenly to car way. Those are just for safety. :)

Is there any chance there's an allergy going on? One of our Bs was born in Washington State, and apparently now that we live in Texas, she's somewhat allergic to the environment. We give her Benedryl somewhat regularly (25 mg every 12 hours, probably just a few times a week) at her vet's instruction and under the vet's supervision. Her most common place for a hot spot is between her toes, because she nibbles at the area, and the Benedryl seems to stop that itching which in turn gets her to leave the spot alone. Obviously, a photo would be most helpful, but allergies and managing those might be something worth looking into.

Dudley is a beauty! And what a gorgeous face.If people ask, I would say that he comes from the proud breed line of "rescued"!!!!

Yes, it is ! Dad is Anza Pretty Black Kiah Boy Of Cyrus and Mom is Anza Ti-Calico Girl Of Cyrus. Dam is a carrier (of Fanconi) but sire is clear. She is clear for PRA too. I had Anza Trigger Kilekas erroneously in the database as a bitch ! She/he has undergone immediate sex-change surgery ! I'm glad you posted the photo and sent me digging cos I'd never have noticed my mistake. Any chance you know the names of the siblings !

@jerseygirl01 I do "see" Basenji in this one. Not pure, but it's there. The coloring, the legs... Let us know what the DNA test reveals, I'm always so curious!
