OMG soooo cute. Her colouring and face don't look like a basenji, but maybe she's mixed with something with stronger genes. Do a DNA test. That would be fun!

@jamato - Neither her sire or dam have been DNA tested for Fanconi. All that are tested are on a public data base www.offa.org that anyone can access. The sire of your pup had his sire and dam tested back when the linkage (not direct DNA) test came out. His sire/dam are listed at pCL (probably clear) however went the direct test came out it was suggest that all be retested as there were false readings with the linkage test. One of the littermates to the sire of Scout was tested as Carrier. The Dam of your pup was not tested and her sire was not tested, her Dam was tested with the linkage test as pCL (probably clear). To be sure you should have your pup tested. You can order the test at https://secure.ofa.org/cart.html scroll down and order the Fanconi test. It is a cheek swab that you do at home. 65.00 and well worth the cost for peace of mind.

I think it's great if the pup is learning from the older dog. Farm dogs certainly learn quite a bit about livestock from their elders, and it can be very useful. I do think the core commands need to be dealt with a bit differently because the dog has to clearly understand that they are never optional, and you need to know that the dog will comply when the other dog is not present to model the behaviour.

@eeeefarm Brag as much as you want bcoz you have the right ~ he was beautiful as could be! He reminded me of my 1st. B, the colors & the way they blended together! I couldn't hear him, guess my pc needs an update but Yes ~ Perry is one to brag about!

B wrinkles feel sooo awesomely soft (it's good to rub their head there too, makes them trust you or something, someone here will know) but the best reason is bcoz it feels soooo good!! She is just adorably cute!! Just looked at the "other" pics, if I was a jealous type person, this pup would be a perfect reason for me to be jealous! She is just so cute & she knows she is!
