As a fellow Fanconi "mom" still within the first year of this terrible diagnosis, my heart goes to you. Just know you did your best while your b was alive and loved them as much as possible. It is all any of us can do.

I think it must be awfully hard to lose your Basenji, they are so loving. I can't imagine, but one thing is sure as long as you remember them they live on. I know after having your furbaby for 13yrs. you must have loads of good memories.

@K9amy: I love my cats dearly, but one of them is very old (17!). The younger one is a funny little character, he's probably just as quirky as Kane. :) We have two cats also, one is 16.5 and the other is 3. I've been a cat-owner for years, but Honestly, I was "done" having cats and was content just letting the old guy be our last cat but our oldest dd brought home this pathetic kitten 3 yrs ago. She'd found her in the woods at camp, and there were no other people around except the camping group. None of the adults would take it, so dd brought it home. At that time the local shelter was overloaded w/kittens, so we wound up keeping her "Until we can find her a home". Three years later, I guess I'm looking at 15 - 17+ yrs w/her still. sigh.

Your Basenji was a gift, one that was treasured by you and one that won't be forgotten. I am so sorry for your loss, but thank God you had Wizard in your life. They make such an impact, and we love them all the more for their weird ways, and stubborness, we just LOVE THEM!!!!!:D

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Patsy..I have tears in my eyes…it is obvious that she was loved and gave love...a cherished family member...that old saying "Time heals all wounds" I have found is not true but time does allow for longer periods between the grieving...God bless you...
