I am very interested, but need to wait to get the extra money built up before I start. I want to begin with the non-aggressive, mild but colorful fish. I have been told tropicals are more difficult than fresh waters… What is your suggestion? I am trying to learn ahead of time so when I do start, I won't be in over my head!

I just signed up, too! I am starting a new job, so I will help as soon as my schedule gets worked out. Turns out I may be a good in-between person from some of the midwestern states across and then down into some of the southeastern states. I am in Southern West Virginia… There aren't many Basenjis in my state that I know of.

Hi Bella, We're from Frederick, MD, which isn't too far from the east side of WV. Shelby isn't a purebred B but she is a cute labrasenji. Where in WV are you? I also haven't seen too many basenjis here in MD. In fact most people don't know anything about basenjis and have never heard of the breed. This forum is a Godsend.

Somebody wrote a letter to the editor in this morning's paper suggesting a microchip before he escapes again.

<> Maybe it is time for Mikey to become an indoor cat? I couldn't stand one of my pets routinely disappearing for even a few hours! I am glad you got him back. Good idea about the name tag!

That is a happy ending! My SIL's boxer ran out the door one Christmas morning at the other SIL's house. We all watched in horror as she dashed into the street and ran INTO an car. She bounced off the passenger door, and seemed completely unphased!

I grew up in Indiana where they get lots of snow but here in Alabama people don't know how to drive in it. We're in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and it's very hilly. Everything stops when it snows, schools close, etc. All they have to do is mention the S word in the forecast and in two hours you can't find a loaf of bread or gallon of milk anywhere. In March 1993 we actually did have the Blizzard of the Century and we got 21 inches of snow and ice. I got snowed in at work (I'm a nurse and work in a hospital) for 5 days. My son was 15 then and he was home by himself because I couldn't get there. He got bored and tried walking down the hill and the National Guard picked him up and took him back home!

I loved House when it first came on. Then I moved and never got cable, I just recently got rabbit ears for my TV but just got too used to not watching TV at all. My boyfriend loved Lost and I had never seen it. He's big on buying seasons of shows he likes so I watched them and watched the first two seasons in a matter of 2 weeks. We decided not to watch it on TV though and wait til it came out on DVD. I can't imagine waiting a week to watch a show and then having to sit through all the comercials..ugh. Can't wait!

I fully agree with what you said….Right after Halloween....we skip Thanksgiving and go straight for X-Mas. I agree. But it isn't all after Halloweeen. I took my mother to a doctor appointment a week before Halloween and the doctor's office was putting up Christmas decorations already! :(

We have a Greyhound and an Italian Greyhound. No Basenji yet, but still hoping. Got an email from the group, but it was more like their "junk" mail mailing. The Thanks for applying, we have lots and lots of other dogs, please take a look on our site, we send this to everyone who has applied or is a member. Thanks you again for applying. That sort of email.
