They are both fixed and I have had a behaviorist in who was helpful in many ways. Willie had developed dominance aggression and deffered (I think I spelled that wrong) aggression. His aggression only seemed to surface in response to the way Rosie picked on him - it all sort of snowballed and anytime we went away and left them with someone else (in the house) something big (and bad) would happen.

Willie's aggression has really decreased. He's almost his old sweet self - we feel much better about his behavior. Rosie needs some more work as far as he's concerned, but she's a sweetie with us.

We'll keep trying and we haven't given up hope yet!

What sweet pictures. So sorry about Cassie. I lost my first basenji about 5-1/2 years ago when he was 15. I bet Alex would like a basenji friend when you're ready.

She looks a lot like a basenji/chihauhau mix I recently saw. But you can definately see the basenji.

Even these breeds shed. Anything that has hair will shed. Anyone with long hair can tell you that. I find strands of my hair on things all the time. If it has hair then it sheds. Some breeds like poodles, bichons, etc shed much less and the hair is different so people with allergies to dog hair are less likely to react.

It is a bit different then shedding and by the way, short hair falls out too 😃 .. the hair falls out… it is usually mostly the dander that gets people's allergies going....

I agree that having a companion for your dog is helpful.
My 2 b's sleep on the bed when we are are work…unless they are sunning themselves outside in the summer keeping an eye on the yard.
We have a doggie door and its helpful...but I wouldn't let a single dog have access to the outside, as they might see some dog they want to play with
and go over/under the fence.
My 2 have never even tried to climb out. But I believe its cause they are together.

It was actually the vet tech wasn't the most brilliant thing on the planet… needless to say I found another vet the next week and they think she might have some bulldog in her... what a mix. I believe that she definitely could have some bulldog in her judging by the way she lays around the house.
