Hello, thanks for all the reply.

I am sure you´ll make it just fine. :) I will have to come alone with all four B´s since Steve is going to be at the race-track in Czech.
See you on sunday and have a save drive!

Thank you, you too! How long will it take you.

  • Greeting from Poland

    Dobry wieczór!
Congratulations to your first Basenji litter! I also like your CC´s very much.

I hope no longer than two hours. It´s 230 km but you never know how the traffic is around Frankfurt and i´ll have to pass by there.

Amber is going to hate it all. She rejects discomfort, dog shows and other unpleasant things. I guess that is why she finished all her titles in the minimum amount of shows. :) Maybe we´ll find something to hunt for her, that should cheer her up.

I'm allowing 5 hours as it is 300 miles for me don't know what that is in K's, I'm hoping that the traffic isn't too bad round Frankfurt either. Poor Amber, Cali is a bit the same really but I have to take her with me with John being away.

100 miles are about 161 km. Something i really had to learn living with an American are the measurements. The conversion is hell - i still sometimes forget it.

Where do you reside in Germany?

At least i will get to know Cali than. Your dogs remind me of my Casia a lot. The same gorgeous faces and wrinkles.

We are in Bergen, just north of Celle.
    It's the Zande in them!!

Sally told me that Casia looks just like her grandma.

I have seen the first photos when Casia was 3 hours old. She had the cutes face and almost looked like a Shar-Pei puppy. :) So i knew that she´ll be welcomed soon in our family (just had to convince Steve - which was done quickly).

Yes the Zandes all have very distinctive heads which I like better than alot of the other heads in the UK.

Thanks! wanted to give her a good name since I fudged Beo's name…....named him Darby O'Gill and then realized weeks in that it spells 'Dog' so had to rush to change it. Named him Beo after Beowulf - because he seemed so anti-heroic and I never figured he'd be much of a protector. Name curse took over from there though. Bop-It should be safe from the name curse. Sound advice, trying to enjoy it while it lasts :)

Why can't the teens help out? Seems like good responsible character building. Sigh. Good luck on finding him a home.

Welcome! I didn't see a photo, boo-hoo. Funny to think of a goth couple with a black and white basenji, they look very "Count Dracula" in some ways, especially with puppy teeth!

We look at Jaycee like when our daughter started to crawl and got into everthing. I can only hope for Jaycee as our daughter is eighteen and still getting into things. Rita Jean

@tanza: Are you near Sindelfingen? (I think that is the right spelling)… there is a Basenji owner/breeder that lives there (and is a member of the Basenji Club of America) that would be glad I am sure to talk to you about Basenjis and maybe you could even visit her. You can contact me privately for her name and email address by going to my website (www.tanzabasenjis.net) and sending me an email. Yes !!! Sindelfingen ( correct spelling, very good job ; my doggy would get a "click" and treat  ) is almost round the corner. I´ll send you an email soon and thank´s a lot !!

They are both fixed and I have had a behaviorist in who was helpful in many ways. Willie had developed dominance aggression and deffered (I think I spelled that wrong) aggression. His aggression only seemed to surface in response to the way Rosie picked on him - it all sort of snowballed and anytime we went away and left them with someone else (in the house) something big (and bad) would happen. Willie's aggression has really decreased. He's almost his old sweet self - we feel much better about his behavior. Rosie needs some more work as far as he's concerned, but she's a sweetie with us. We'll keep trying and we haven't given up hope yet!
