Hello!

Hi! While I've been following this forum for quite some time now, I hadn't said hello. We have a wonderful, spoiled, adoring 8 year old basenji prince, who we have had since he was a puppy (my first baby) and an almost 6-year old human boy and in a few months, we are lucky enough to be acquiring a little basenji sister for the boys. We are very excited for another basenji to join our pack and it's been quite a few years in the making :). Anyhow hello fellow basenji lovers and I'm sure I'll be checking out this forum more frequently once we work on assimilating baby girl into the pack!
-
Welcome ! And do let us know the names of your boy (Basenji !) and the new girl you are getting - along with their parents. Its often surprising how closely all our Basenjis are related.
-
Welcome .... we would love to know the sire/dam of your boy and your pending new puppy. As noted by Zande, many of us here are related by our Basenjis...
-
Howdy @kristiesad, welcome to the pack!

Hello! It's been a while but we have been busy with our new baby, Dolce! She's now about 4.5 months and just the sweetest little girl ever. She has the cutest baroo and is very talkative. Vino, who is 8, has warmed up to her, though it was a slow process and he now seems super happy. Dolce is from Soulou Basenjis (Susan Howard) in AZ. Vino comes from a breeder in Anza, who I won't name as I am well aware of the reputation she has on this forum LOL. We were very well aware of the reputation when we got him 8 years ago and he's just the best boy. We couldn't be more in love with our two Bs. I'm trying to figure out how to post a photo on here!
-
@kristiesad All Susan's recent litters are in the database. So send me a photo of Dolce with her registered name and I will in use it in her pedigree so the world can see it and you can up date it as she grows up. People have lots of fun, tracing their ancestry.
Address is in my signature block.
Not sure if I will have the Anza but you can try if you have his registered name. I look forward to adding him.

@kristiesad Ah, you have to resize the photos (with any photo editing app) to upload them here! I had some trouble figuring that out myself when I first arrived. Also, WELCOME DOLCE and her older sibling!

🥰 Adorable- thanks for sharing.️ -
Great pictures! It's worth mentioning that you can edit posts that don't work out to your satisfaction, rather than starting a new one...
-
@kristiesad What a couple of awesome looking Basenjis! Yeah, you're hooked. Good for you!
-
I keep begging my husband for a third so i can get that tshirt that says "I was normal 3 basenjis ago."

@kristiesad I think Prince is going to dig having a little buddy to hang with and punk. My two have squabbles every now and again, but they are inseparable. If one leaves the other goes nuts till we return. Then more squabbles. It's funny though... watching how they sort things out helps me know how to communicate better with them when I need them to do something. Pack behavior and all that. fun stuff. Oh, and I've also learned that having two helps them too. They watch each other work us. When one sees the other behaving badly and getting what they want... yeah... now I have two doing it. You're gonna have a so much fun! I mean that sincerely. Two is very much fun!

@kristiesad eight was a good number to have around. The pack fluctuated a bit after years of 8. Down one, up two, and so on till now just 2 young boys. But it's been great !
You have a long way to go yet -

@zande we had 6 samoyeds growing up but 2 acres fenced in for them to run around! If I had a farm, then for sure
