• So who here is a bad puppy parent and spoils their dogs.
I share food with goober when I'm done eating, but i also let him drink from my glass whenever he asks.

  • I am! I am! My Damisi still sleeps with me. Shadow and Sugar cuddle with me every chance they get on the bed too.

  • Goober sleeps with us too. but before we wake up he slides off the bed and snuggles on his pillow.

  • I try not to spoil my two little weasels, but they're very manipulating!! I probably give in way too often. :o

  • My hubby and I both spoil our girl, Sahara, we just love her sooo much. I probably spoil her the most, like giving her food when I am eating, just the regular spoil doggie stuff. I can't help it, she looks at me with those sad eyes and wrinkled forhead, so what am I suppose to do. My hubby covered our back door top step so Sahara could lay on it and not be bothered by the bricks. I must say she loves to lay on those steps in the sun and watch the birds and all that is going on in the back yard, especially in the mornings. She gets special Merrick treats everyday, gets in our bed, sleeps on our furniture if she wants to. I bought her a new bed and she does sleep in there the most these days, she likes it alot. I have gotten a change of heart since I got Sahara, all my things are just stuff, material things, and to be loved by a dog is the BEST, so I spoil her. I don't let her tear up my stuff mind you, but I am not a person that goes crazy if she gets on my furniture.

  • Furniture… isn't that just another name for "basenji"?

  • I spoil my dogs ROTTEN!! πŸ™‚ But they don't mind!

Currently we have three beds for our two dogs. Each dog has their own special blanket in their crate; Miles prefers fleece while Lexi is a chenille bitch. We just upgraded their food to Blue Buffalo and they dine from fine little bowls atop a suede/leather placemat.

I swear Lexi has more clothes than I do, and I take so many pictures of her, she must think she's a super star.

A friend of mine recently came over to the house and when she got out her camera, Lexi ran in front of her, sat down, and posed for the picture. My friend just died laughing. But in their defense, my kids have won multiple contests and lots of goodies for their good looks!

For bathtime, we have fine products as well- a super scrubber and blueberry facial soap. Afterwards, they get clean ears only with wintogreen alcohol so they smell extra fresh! Lexi will actually let you file her nails. She just sits there with her paw held out like she's getting a mani/pedi!!

They have an unbelievable amount of toys- especially in light of receiving a gift box from our dogster pals, Smoke & Tess, as well as winning the Doggie 4K fundraiser top prize! We have guts and pelts everywhere! Vacuuming is mandatory daily.

Typically, you can find Lexi & Miles lounging in their huge bay window sunning themselves. But when you say "Do you wanna go OUTSIDE?!" they will move with the quickness to put their coordinating harnesses on! They of course jog in style and are attached to the sophisticated leash splitter/jogging belt. So cool! They are very well-traveled dogs!

Lexi & Miles also have coordinating couture paisley collars. They are so cute! www.bellabeancouture.com

Lexi used to be trained to sit in a chair at the table in front of a plate just like a human. She'd wait in her chair until you put something on her plate and then she'd daintily eat it.

But I decided that would not be a good idea when we traveled so I stopped. But both of my sweet little pooches get table scraps (Lexi is MUCH better at eating off a fork) because, well, they are just too cute! Otherwise their treats are peanutbutter filled hooves and chicken jerkey.

Every morning when the kids wake up, they get their "Good Mornings" which consists of a full body massage: head, neck, spine, shoulders, haunches, back legs, feet, and then up to the front legs followed by a brisk rub down of the entire body. They usually stretch when this happens and occassionally I get a barrooo in thanks. They also get blown with the hairdryer as part of my/their daily routine.

Anyone else spoil their dog(s) this much?? πŸ™‚

  • It's the pink tootoo that scares the evacuation out of me.

  • What! You know you love it!

  • @BDawg1005:

What! You know you love it!

I love it! And . . . I love everything you do for Lexi and Miles. (especially cute is the pink tootoo) I love these pics too, they give me big smiles.:) πŸ™‚ You and your DH are superior dog parents. I can't spoil my fur babies like you do because my 9 yr. old son is on the upper totem pole. I do hope Duke and Daisy are happy, healthy and challenged. πŸ˜‰ Certainly, before my divine child, my pets were #1. πŸ˜‰ Hoping for karma . . .

  • I'm just morally against non-work clothes for dogs.

  • Awww! Thanks Duke!! πŸ™‚

  • Wow! I thought Dash was spoiled. Those clothes are adorable. I can't believe she sits with them on.

  • I'm with BDawg..although mine don't get the spa treatment every morning πŸ˜ƒ πŸ˜ƒ My dogs do get spoiled rotten. Matching collars, harnesses, leashes, clothes, etc. etc….it's like a fashion show in my house πŸ˜ƒ My poor husband swears the dogs have more coats than he does

It's a good thing we do not have any kids because we may be considered good dog parents & bad human parents   LOL LOL LOL πŸ˜ƒ πŸ˜ƒ πŸ˜ƒ

  • I tell ya…I want to come back as a dog at BDawg's house πŸ™‚

  • Ditto! I want to come back as MY dog!! πŸ™‚ hahahaha!!

  • I am another basenji owner guilty of spoiling their dog!! πŸ˜ƒ Hollie goes EVERYWHERE I go… including work. She has only been crated twice in 1 1/2 years. She goes to all family functions, occasionally to doggie day care, and to any and all doggie events happening locally. We take daily trips to the park to walk and also visit the dog park (during off peak hours). Hollie loves to go to Riverdog Bakery and get homemade treats and we also visit AgriFeed to get her Innovo dog food (she loves it). She has 3 furcousins that get together when we do family things and she loves them all! If I can't take Hollie with me, I don't go!! Hollie sleeps in the bed EVERYNIGHT and loves to cuddle with us. She has two leather bomber jackets, and several sweaters (including one M & M sweater that her grammy brought back from Las Vegas). She loves her collars and leashes, especially her UT VOLS collar/leash. Our next trip is to the Bass Pro Shop in Sevierville... they are DOG FRIENDLY!! Also planning on attending a minor league Baseball game, during the Dog Days of Summer!!! Hollie is well traveled for the short amount of time I have been owned by her!! :p

  • WOW…she's attached to your hip!! πŸ˜ƒ πŸ˜ƒ

Do you take her into stores & supermarkets???...Just wondering becuz we don't have alot of dog friendly places to take our pooches.

  • I don't spoil them with those types of treasures:rolleyes: , but I do go out of my way to make sure they have as much freedom and space to run in places that are fun for them.

I do love them and spoil them all with sniffs and kisses.:D

  • Dogs are just funny looking little people, LOL. They are meant to be spoiled to bits. Even though i haven't gotten a B yet i've already started a list of things I'll get it, and I know it'll be spoiled, because my boxer and cat are beyond spoiled, they eat better than me, sleep better than me (king size bed and they get 2/3 and hubby and me get 1/3, lol. I can only imagine when i get a B, i'll have to sleep somewhere else, lmao
